KUALA LUMPUR, 5 JUN – Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah telah bertitah agar isu agama tidak dijadikan sebagai titik perbalahan politik.
“Pada kesempatan ini, Beta ingin mengingatkan kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia untuk tidak menjadikan isu agama sebagai polemik dan perbalahan politik,
“Semua pihak perlu menghormati kedudukan agama Islam sebagai agama persekutuan seperti mana yang dinyatakan di dalam perkara tiga perlembagaan persekutuan,
“Dan perlulah juga menghormati kedudukan Raja-Raja Melayu sebagai ketua agama Islam,” titah Al-Sultan Abdullah yang disiarkan melalui televisyen tempatan bersempena Ulang Tahun Hari Keputeraan Rasmi Baginda, semalam.
Baginda turut menitahkan bahawa Malaysia mempunyai potensi yang sangat besar untuk menjadi sebuah negara maju dan disegani.
“Malaysia telah dilimpahi dengan nikmat keamanan, kepelbagaian sumber dan modal insan yang berkualiti serta mempunyai semangat juang yang tinggi.
“Sebenarnya, kekuatan utama negara ini adalah merupakan rakyatnya,
“Rakyat Malaysia amat mencintai kedamaian, keharmonian dan kesatuan dalam kehidupan seharian serta menerima kemajmukan yang berwujud dengan penuh toleran,
“Rakyat Malaysia juga telah sekian lama berjaya mencipta nama di persada dunia dalam pelbagai bidang termasuk dalam corak landskap geopolitik serantau dan di global,” titah Baginda.
Al-Sultan Abdullah ditabalkan sebagai Yang di-Pertuan Agong ke-16 pada 30 Julai 2019. Tahun 2023 merupakan tahun ke-5 Baginda memayungi negara.
“Tahun ini adalah merupakan tahun yang kelima buat Beta dan Raja Pemaisuri Agong menyambut hari yang penuh bermakna ini bersama rakyat Malaysia yang sentiasa dekat di hati Beta,
Beta merasa amat bersyukur kerana hari keputeraan, rasmi beta pada tahun ini disambut dalam suasana landskap negara yang stabil dan sentosa,”
“Pada tahun yang lalu, pilihan raya umum yang ke-15 dan proses pembentukan kerajaan persekutuan telah berlangsung dengan penuh lancar serta dalam suasana yang aman dan damai,” titah yang di-Pertuan Agong. – airtimes.my
