MOSCOW, 21 SEPT – The Russian side calls for a harmonization of policies to strengthen the relationship between the country and China.
Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev stated that this effort is necessary to enhance efforts to counter Western countries that attempt to curb the influence of both nations.
He made this statement during a security discussion with Chinese diplomats.
Nikolai clarified that Russia is striving for progressive development and to strengthen the Russia-China relationship in comprehensive and strategic cooperation.
“Behind the collective efforts by Western countries, it is important for Russia and China to further enhance coordination and interaction at the international level,” he said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to have discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, in October.
The visit by senior Russian leaders to China is held in conjunction with the Belt and Road China conference.
Meanwhile, Nikolai reiterated Russia’s support for China on the issues of Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong.
According to him, all three issues have utilised by Western countries to portray China negatively in the eyes of the world. – airtimes.my
