Saifuddin and Fatin emerge top recruits

PENGERANG, 20 NOV – Junior Able Seamen Nik Muhamad Saifuddin Badrul Hisam and Fatin Najwai Mohd Hanif emerged as the overall best Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) men’s and women’s recruit, respectively, for the naval basic course ‘Series 225/23’.

The duo were among 545 recruits who graduated  at the Kapal Diraja Sultan Ismail (KDSI) base in Tanjung Pengelih, Pengerang, Johor.

They received their accolades from RMN chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Ayob.

Rahman also crowned the ‘Bentara Division’ as the best overall division, under the guidance of

Chief Petty Officer Stanley Usek and assisted by Petty Officer Mohd Bakri Bahareen.

Earlier, Rahman inspected a passing-our parade consisting of nine divisions of the 545 recruits who had completed their six months of training at KDSI.

“These recruits underwent various exercises to successfully transform their character and mind,

from a civilian to a calibre military personnel.

“These recruits have qualified to serve as an RMN personnel and shoulder the duties and trust of the nation.

“I hope the that the team spirit or esprit de corps among the comrades-in-arms will continue for

excellence and prosperity in the future,” said Rahman.

He called on the fresh graduates to hold the RMN’s four core values – ‘Glory, Loyalty, Courage and Pride’ – that would make the ‘Navy People’ skilled and disciplined to achieve the vision of the organisation becoming a credible navy. – airtimes.my
